Busy Building!
Last weekend I was ultra motivated to get some things built! I finally decided it was time to tackle Olivia’s Nook. First, let me say that when we first saw the house, this little nook was the most odd use of space. We weren’t quite sure what it was for. The realtor guessed that it was a computer nook. But I was hoping to do something better with it. I thought it would make a really cute reading nook for Olivia. We had the room completely renovated,... Read More

Olivia’s Armoire
So TJ and I finally decided to tackle the armoire that I want to build for Olivia’s room. I fell in love with the Pottery Barn Kids Armoire they had for sale, but not so much in love with their price. As you may know from past posts, I got these amazing plans from Ana White that shows me step by step how to make the exact same armoire. Since I put Olivia’s bed in her closet nook, I needed someplace I could hang her jackets and dresses. Currently they are in... Read More
Butcherblock Countertops
This post is to explain the step-by-step process I did for my counter tops. It was really easy, but I won’t lie, it was very time consuming. I got the countertops at Ikea. We ended up paying about $700 for 5 different pieces. We decided to go with the Numerar Oak butcher block. They had a cheaper, thinner kind of butcher block, but from what I hear they generally sell out of those as soon as they come in, so if you can get your hands on them, your a lucky one! First... Kitchen Breakdown
A lot of people were curious about the cost of the kitchen and how it was broken down. I’m more than happy to share it with those of you who are wondering! Our old cabinets were in great shape! They just needed a new face lift. I knew that I wanted to paint them white (to help brighten up the kitchen) and add some hardware. I found a great deal on some silver knobs and pulls on craigslook (a nation wide search version of craigslist). I got 30 brand new pieces of... Read More
Guest Bedroom
I finally got started on putting the guest bedroom together. My dad drives over 3 hours down to Eugene, from Seaside, all the time to help out with the house. He would sleep on a blow-up mattress, on the floor, surrounded by tools, and junk that wasn’t unpacked yet. I figured that probably wasn’t the best way to go if I wanted him to keep coming down to visit and help out! So I decided I finally needed to start working on the guest bedroom so that I could keep luring... Read More
The Laird Job
It’s finally here! Our episode finally aired this last Saturday! I can’t even begin to express how excited I was It was a total fluke on how I found out it was airing. It was friday (the day before it was airing), and I was curious as to when the show would be airing. The network said that they were guessing it would be sometime in March, and would contact me to let me know the exact dates once they knew. Well, I hadn’t heard anything since they left...
